Safe employment is one of Jooble's main goals. That's why our moderation team thoroughly checks the companies and jobs posted on our platform.

However, we feel it is necessary to provide you with additional information that may help you find your ideal job.

If you are searching for a job or simply curious about the job market, we suggest you read the details provided in the Jooble Security section to understand what measures must be taken to protect yourself from any deceitful activities.

What is the goal of scammers?
The goal of fraudsters is to obtain personal information (passport information, address, etc.) or financial information and/or a certain amount of money. They can pretend to be someone else, use it for future scams to make them look real, or use it to benefit themselves.

Here are examples of popular jobs scammers post:

  • Sales-related jobs
    These jobs are popular with job seekers and therefore of particular interest to scammers. These jobs may be in well-known stores or supermarkets, or lesser-known ones.
    Often, these jobs have a general job description, no specifics, but always good pay conditions. For information about open positions and contact information, please check the official websites of these companies;

  • Assistant, support, or administrative positions
    These positions can include a variety of administrative work options: from a personal assistant to a part-time office worker, to a receptionist working with clients over the phone.
    Often these jobs are "easy money" jobs. Scammers offer stable work and a family atmosphere, promise that you will solve important company problems in a comfortable office, and receive high salaries and bonuses. But these scams aim to make you aware of these positions and encourage you to send them your CV. As a result, scammers may trick you with unofficial jobs or ask for your personal information or money to take some courses, and so on;

  • Receptionist-related jobs
    These are variations of secretary, hotel receptionist, restaurant manager, etc. Scammers may use well-known company names or "steal" their jobs from official websites to extort personal or financial information from you after you send them your resume;

  • Home-based flyer and/or envelope packing and converting jobs
    Such jobs look like ideal job options: work from home, self-sufficiency, and independence.
    However, they may require you to provide your bank account information or send money;

  • Job offers from employers that hire abroad
    Very often, they require an advance payment, for example, for the preparation of documents. Therefore, it is necessary to agree in advance on the following points: whether the intermediary company works directly with the employer, to clarify all the nuances, and guarantees, whether they provide a place of residence and under what conditions. Because as a result of "sweet" promises, the candidate either gets a job that does not meet his or her expectations at all, or not the one promised during the recruitment process, or fraudsters delay the time to get the money but do not employ the candidate.

Why these vacancies?
This article contains only a few examples of commonly used fraudulent jobs and schemes.
